Albert Leroy “Bootsey” Carter

Albert Leroy “Bootsey” Carter, 87, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died unexpectedly Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Marshall Medical Center.

Leroy was born December 15, 1937, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Albert and Mary Thompson Carter.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, as well as a faithful servant of God. He was employed by Cathey Furniture Company and retired from Lewisburg Water Dept. in Quality Control. He was a member of Liberty Valley Church of Christ where he served as song leader and elder. He served as song leader for multiple congregations since the age of 17. He enjoyed working with electronics and traveling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Ray Carter, Sr. and a sister, Sandra Carter.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Rose Marie Crane Carter; daughter, Gwen Carter Cashion of Cornersville; son, Daryl Leroy (Ann) Carter of Columbia; sister, Vickie (David) Caneer of Lewisburg; brother, Randall (Hazel) Carter of Belfast; seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family was held at London Funeral Home, 324 West Church Street, Lewisburg, Tennessee, on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 5 until 8 p.m. The funeral service was conducted on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home and burial followed in Beechwood Cemetery. London Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
