Huge Jump in Early Voting over 8 Years

During the 14 days of early voting, 11,301 in-person votes were cast across the county and 241 absentee ballots were received. That is a total of 11,542.

The turnout for early voting was 50.1% of registered voters in the county.

The five busiest days were Oct. 17 with 1,479 in-person, 9 absentee- total of 1,488; Oct. 18 with 1,322 in-person, 5 absentee- total of 1,327; Oct. 28 with 1,256 in-person, 24 absentee- total of 1,280; Oct. 29 with 1,154 in-person, 8 absentee- total of 1,162; and Oct. 16 with 935 in-person, 143 absentee- total of 1,078.

Since the last presidential election, there was an increase of 371 voters from 2020’s 11,171. (2024- 11,542.) This is an increase of 3.32% and close to the state increase of 2.89%.

During the 2016 presidential election, only 7,346 Marshall County voters early voted. Compared to this year, 4,196 more people showed up than 8 years ago.

That is a 57.12% change, much higher than the state increase of 32.18%.

In Tennessee, 2,214,870 early votes cast were cast in total and 2,132,610 were in-person. There were 82,253 absentee mail-in. The estimated turnout was 45.88% of registered Tennessean voters.
