With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gary Thomas Brown, a cherished member of the Lewisburg community, who sadly departed on March 10, 2024. Gary was born on June 10, 1941, in Culverson City, Calif. to Fredrick and Helen Larson Brown. He was a proud veteran of the Army and a valued member of the Lewisburg Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where his devotion shone through his actions and presence.
A funeral service to celebrate Gary’s life was held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home. Prior to the service on Wednesday, a visitation took place from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Known affectionately as the “Bird Man of America,” Gary had a passion for selling birds nationwide, which earned him admiration across the country. Beyond his business endeavors, he was renowned for his culinary skills and love for cooking. Gary derived immense joy from hosting cookouts, sharing meals, and creating memories with friends and loved ones. Gary built his life around faith, family, and fellowship.
Gary is survived by his wife, Paulette Brown; sons, Fredrick Brown, Patrick D. Brown, and Bobby Joe Pace (Dana); Jacquline M. Brown, Mechelle Campbell (Donald), Diawn Rigdon (Melvin), and Amanda Pace; sister, Lona Zimmerson; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
