Dorris Lee Gentry, 82, of Lewisburg, Tenn., died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, at his residence.
He was born December 26, 1942, in College Grove, Tennessee, to the late Roy and Florence Fagan Gentry. He worked for Eastern Airlines as a Motor Driver and served in the United States Army. He was well known around Marshall County through his involvement in youth baseball and softball.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Anthony David Gentry and two brothers, Edward and Doug Gentry.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine “Cathy” Hodge Gentry of Lewisburg; daughter, Sherri (James) Holder of Westmoreland; three sons, Shannon (Angel) Gentry of Daytona Beach, Fla., Matthew (Kate) Gentry of Lebanon, and Joseph Gentry of Lewisburg; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and sister, Elaine Richardson of Lewisburg.
Visitation with the family took place in the chapel of London Funeral Home, 324 West Church Street, Lewisburg, Tenn., Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, from 12 until the funeral hour of 2 p.m. Burial followed immediately in Mars Hill Cemetery.
